How the calculation works

Attendance is the share of classes you were present for. Most Indian colleges and universities set a minimum, commonly 75%, and students who fall below it can be barred from exams or asked to pay a condonation fee. The calculator works out how much room you have left, using only whole classes.

Attendance percentageattended ÷ total × 100
Classes you can bunk (when you are at or above the limit)floor( (100 × attended − limit × total) ÷ limit )
Classes you must attend in a row (when you are below the limit)ceil( (limit × total − 100 × attended) ÷ (100 − limit) )

Below 75%: 42 attended out of 60

42 ÷ 60 = 70%
Need (75 × 60 − 100 × 42) ÷ 25 = 12
Check: 54 ÷ 72 = 75%

Above 75%: 48 attended out of 60

48 ÷ 60 = 80%
Bunk (100 × 48 − 75 × 60) ÷ 75 = 4
Check: 48 ÷ 64 = 75%

Skipping a class adds one to the total without adding to your attended count, so it lowers your percentage. Attending adds one to both. The "If I miss the next classes" slider shows the effect before you decide.

Questions students ask

How is attendance percentage calculated?

Divide the classes you attended by the total classes held, then multiply by 100. If you attended 42 of 60 classes, your attendance is 42 / 60 x 100 = 70%.

How many classes can I bunk and still keep 75% attendance?

Enter your attended and total classes above. The calculator finds the largest number of future classes you can miss while your attendance stays at or above 75%.

How many classes must I attend to reach 75% attendance?

If you are below the limit, the calculator shows how many classes in a row you must attend. Missing any of them pushes the number up.

Can I use it for 60%, 65%, 70% or 80% attendance rules?

Yes. Pick a preset, or type any whole-number percentage from 1 to 100 in the Other box.

What about medical leave or duty leave?

Rules differ by college. If your college counts approved leave as present, add those days to your attended count before calculating, and confirm the rule with your department.

Is my data saved or shared?

No. The calculation runs in your browser. Subject names and numbers in the All subjects tab are stored only on your own device so they are there when you return.
